John Halamka, MD, MS, is an industry leader in healthcare innovation, identifying technologies that make care more efficient, integrated, and accessible. Dr. Halamka currently serves as Executive Director of the Health Technology Exploration Center of Beth Israel Lahey Health and as Chief Information Officer for the Beth Israel Deaconess system. Dr. Halamka is also an International Healthcare Innovation Professor at Harvard Medical School. He previously served as Chief Information Officer at Harvard Medical School, Chair of the National Health Information Technology Standards Panel for the Bush administration, and Co-chair of the National Health Information Technology Standards Committee for the Obama administration.

Dr. Halamka received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, his Master of Science from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his Doctor of Medicine from University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr. Halamka appeared on the HIMSS list of “50 Most Influential Technologists of the Past 50 Years” and CIO Magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame.
